If I were to try and get a Tales of Ladies-athon started, would anyone be interested in participating? Windy and I were talking about how awesome the Abyss girls were and I think it's safe to say that the Tales of series isn't lacking in awesome female characters, but the fandom does have a lot more fanworks focused on the male characters instead.

Basically, the idea is just to see more stuff focused on the ladies in the fandom, since they are awesome and deserve more love. :3

I got an Archive of Our Own account and have been sorting through what I have written and trying to decide what to post up.

I also need to organize my writing folder. I got things organized by Fandom/OriginalVerse and the Abyss folder has like, 140 files...but I didn't think to separate them further into unfinished/finished folders. BAH. And some of the finished things are, stuff even I won't admit to writing. >-> So far I have a lot of M/M. I don't know why but that seems easier for me to write than F/F. I should work on that. I know I got some F/F pairings I favor...

BUT YES, so far I rather like the site and it's little four squares thing for rating, pairing, warnings and completion. AND THE TAGS, oh I love the tags. ♥ It makes things so much easier to browse and I, I like tags, as an idea. I support them and their tag-ness.

...oh yeah. That Van/Largo I was babbling about is up there. Windy was wonderfully awesome and gave it a quick look for typos and thoughts on Largo's voice and uh, I think I need to write more of him. So I can have my lovely read more. ♥

Wow, that's a whole 5% more! Week 2 wasn't SO bad, at least now I'm getting somewhere with certain plots and characters (including some surprise Toph and Suki bonding). Plus, I finally got to add some comic relief and what better way to do that than with kitchen antics? XD

Well, to be fair I'd been planning on changing layouts for a while, but I thought it'd be a while longer. Then I decided on a whim to make the userinfo banner, and...it snowballed!

No, "it's just the internet" is NOT a valid excuse. Maybe if we're talking about silly little fandom arguments, but when we're talking stuff like mocking a person's grief after their friend died you just don't pull that shit. It's not okay and anyone who thinks it is should be ashamed of themselves.

It's like when someone's two-year-old sister spills juice on their English paper and their mother says "she's just a baby, she didn't know any better" but at least the baby has an excuse. They're putting in a new furnace, but it's gonna take a few days. So Dad and I have to drive up to Mom's place to take our showers tonight, which...okay, fine, it's a minor inconvenience, but it's still one I'd rather not have to do. I have music homework, and after that I was hoping to spend the next few hours NaNoing. (I'm finally getting to some lighter and more comic scenes, which is a relief after so much heavy stuff)

Turns out it was the heating system and the furnace! Something went haywire, it conked out and while there was no fire we now have no heat or hot water until further notice.

So yesterday on F!S I apparently missed the secret where some douchenozzle belittled breast cancer. As someone with a history of breast cancer in her family and whose own MOTHER had it, I'm offended and think the secret maker should be ashamed of themselves. Hopefully ashamed enough never to use the internet again.

IN WOW NEWS, we have a bit of a new comp for our 10man group, switching around alts and adding in new people and such so raiding isn't going as smoothly as it used to be, but people are learning pretty fast. The new people especially. Did Naxx one week, came into Ulduar and while we've had some 1% wipes to XT, it was due more to his TANTRUM + GRAVITY/LIGHT BOMB = HAX COMBO more than anything else. We're going to try him again and hope he doesn't use the HAX COMBO some more.

So I went ahead and did it!

I've been really addicted to watching Let's Plays and runthroughs of classic games lately. I think I need to plug in my SNES and try to get a perfect run of Super Mario World at some point. I remember being so happy to find the Special Zone and then frustrated at how HARD it was, and then happy again when I managed to beat every stage.

And now, for NaNo!

I already posted too much BUT I believe romantic chemistry, the sort that isn't just infatuation, evolves over time. Not to say that infatuation can't then evolve into something romantic as well, but in my experience it's always been something that's evolved. Instant infatuations were always that, instant.

I think the second question is meant in a romantic sense but...I can think of one instance where it might have been best if I didn't give the person a second chance? But I wouldn't say I lived to regret it and it's been long enough that it's not even an issue so. Pft. :P

AS FOR THE THIRD...It's not something I've done, but I think it's entirely possible? I mean, desire for me kind of evolves from liking someone a great deal, as a person. If there was someone I actually disliked at first and then that changed over time, it's possible to evolve into something else? Given enough time, anything can happen really.

Oh wow, I got a ton of awesome responses to that last post. It'll...take a while to get through them all and I'm not sure I have a lot to say to them all right now beyond "That's interesting! :O" BUT...I will have to make more posts in that vein regardless, haha. I'm not the best at discussion but I love reading other people's thoughts and such.

In other news, I've been rewatching the Saya no Uta videos on Youtube so I can try out Saya somewhere, but I'm finding myself wanting to give Fuminori a shot. I know this is my second post in as many days, but: alkdslkfslkf. (Scroll down to where it's talking about Nine Ways Archer's Plans Went Horribly Wrong.)

A-and I don't think I even know that person who recced it! When did people actually start reading my fics, let alone liking them? This is as weird as the time A Politically Correct, Court-Mandated Bad End was mentioned on the Something Awful forums.

Since when did "keep an open mind" equate to "being traditional and not trying every new and different thing you hear of makes you a stick in the mud"? Last time I checked, the idea was to open your mind, not have it forced open.


(I only refer to fandom and other recreational activities, for the record. Things like gay marriage and racial sensitivity and accepting other religions/cultures, those are things people should be required to keep an open mind to or at least be tolerant of because it's the right thing to do.)

The more I listen to this the more Bubble Man reminds me of an angsty bishounen. (I was going to say "in a boylove fic" but then I remembered Nephrite and Naru's tragic love story and the way the video plays out reminds me a lot of them)

Of course, according to the Mega Man wiki Bubble Man is supposed to qualify as bishie. Eh, fond childhood memories are overrated anyway. XP

What makes a character 'deep'? And what would make a character 'flat'?

Is the definition objective, subjective or is there some leeway inbetween?

I just see a lot of different ideas about characters and the depth they have (or lack) and a lot of disagreement on that, so I'm curious about what other people think.

I finished my springkink fic two days before it's due! Phew, I was worried for a while there. Now I just need to start working on those alphabet prompt fics. I do mean start. Haven't written a word of any of them. Sorry, this fic had a deadline.

Also I need to finish my current FE10 Playthrough, currently at the beginning of 4-E-3. Mia is amazing and maxed every stat, every stat. And Mist is actually really good, it's the first time I've gotten her to 20/20 and brought her along. Right now the only characters I have who aren't at max level are Kurthnaga and Ena. Kurthnaga's actually fairly good once he's leveled more, Ena... way less so. (This is what, my fourth playthrough and it's the first time I've used them. Huh.) Playing it also gave me a drabblebunny for FE, the first one in a while - Soren counterattacked with a Heal staff and gained a rank up in staves. How does hitting someone with a stick (for 0 damage) let you use holier sticks with more healing magic?

Seven eighths finished with my next icon post - I had this huge Battle Moon Wars set that took forever to complete, and then I made a bunch of Avenger icons like I said I would. Now I'm not sure what to icon to bring the post up from 175 to an even 200.

Oh, and I had straight A's this quarter. That was nice.
